Heavy rains in the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu have flooded Thiruvanamalai, Kancheepuram, Cuddalore and Chennai, affecting 1.8 million people leaving around 300 people dead. Although essential services including power, public transport, and food to the cities is still in the process of restoration, many parts of Tamil Nadu are still in the process of building itself back.
AID Volunteers (News: Citizens take lead in rain relief) at the grassroots level quickly organized themselves and are working in cooperation with several other NGOs and the government on immediate relief. Association for India’s Development (AID) and its partners will take up relief work in providing immediate requirements and rehabilitation to the affected victims.
At this time of need, we request your generous contributions that would make these efforts possible. Please donate here.
